History
Letloa Trust was initially part of the Kuru Family of Organizations (KFO) formed in 2003 to bring together NGOs working with the San people in the Ghanzi and Ngamiland Districts.

The KFO then comprised eight (8) NGOs/CBOs/Trust namely
    • Bokamoso Educational Trust
    • Komku
    • TOCADI Trust
    • San Arts & Crafts
    • D’Kar Kuru Trust
    • Gantsi Craft(g) WIMSA Botswana
    • 30 rural communities
The common goal of the KFO coalition was to empower the most vulnerable indigenous San people in Botswana, enabling them to take control over their own destinies through a holistic approach to development.

The role of Letloa in KFO was to provide a strategic direction to the group, build capacity to deliver services and provide technical, institutional, financial management and fundraising support to member organizations.

Letloa also facilitated publicity and networking with the Botswana government, the University of Botswana, and international indigenous people's organizations, with support for policy development on culturally-adapted education and mother-tongue tuition.

With poverty a severe challenge in San communities, KFO aims included income generation and training to help the San to cope with the difficulties faced by hunter-gatherer societies entering a capitalist environment.

KFO has been disbanded, leaving Letloa Trust, Bokamoso Educational Trust and Gantsi Craft in existence.
